After a client upgraded his site to the latest WordPress, he couldn't log in via "wp-admin" as it keeps redirecting to 404 page. He contacted me and I got it fixed for him. So, in this post, I've decided to share with you, the steps I took in solving the problem.

STEPS

==> Signed in to cPanel
==> Navigated to "File Manager" > "wp-content"
==> Changed the name of the "plugins" folder to "plugins.off" (whichever name would be fine)

I tried to sign into WordPress dashboard and I logged in successfully without any redirection. Hence, I concluded the problem is probably with one of the plugins. So, I continued with the steps below:

==> Logged out of WordPress dashboard
==> Signed in back to cPanel
==> Navigated to "File Manager" > "wp-content"
==> Renamed the "plugin.off" folder name back to "plugins"
==> Opened the "plugins" folder
==> Renamed the folder of the plugin which I think could be the culprit of the problem.

Thereafter, I was able to sign in to the WordPress dashboard without been redirected to 404 page.

Within the WordPress dashboard, I navigated to "Plugins", and deleted the culprit plugin and its files and re-installed a fresh copy of the plugin.

That's all.

If you're experiencing this problem, try this trick and let me know if it works for you.

Have fun!

The trend of unemployment in this part of the world is increasing at an alarming rate.

54% of Nigerian Youths are unemployed – Vanguard Dec 17, 2014
60% of Nigerian Graduates are unemployed – Punch May 2015

The truth is there is nobody to run to
The Government cannot help
Even University Education is not a Guarantee as it used to be.
These days, there are millions of graduates without jobs.

If you can recall few years ago,

6 Ph.D. holders, 704 Masters Holders, and 8, 460 Bachelor degree holders
Applied to work as Truck drivers with Dangote Transport Company.

Fast forward to Jan 2014, Almost ALL the graduate drivers were sacked.

Everybody is downsizing...
Last year, we saw headlines like this

MTN Sacks 252 Engineers
Etisalat Sacks 2000 Workers

Explaining its decision to terminate the employment of the workers, Etisalat said

                                          ...their services were no longer needed in the company.

Imagine your employer waking up one day and saying your services are no longer needed...

This has been the trend in 2014 and it got worse in 2015 Esp with many states unable to pay salaries.

More and more graduates will graduate and join the already teeming population of job seekers & More companies will continue to down size in 2015 and relieve a lot of their employees.

But that doesn’t have to be the story of your life.............

swap phone for new phone

If you’re hoping to get your hands on any of the latest phones from Apple, Samsung or Blackberry, you’re probably considering trading in your current phone for an upgrade. SLOT Nigeria in partnership with matrixpreowned.com will allow you to trade-in your old phone.

To get started, you will have to visit a participating SLOT Store to pass over your phone to a Matrix Agent usually in Orange and Black uniform. You may be asked to complete a simple form, which simply captures the information that best describes your phones condition. You will also have to provide your identity card, receipt of purchase or any form of proof of ownership.

Once verified OK by the technical team, you will get a Voucher based on the value of your item. This voucher is redeemable only in a slot store. You can now add more to the value of your voucher depending on cost of phone you want to purchase and take home a brand new phone.

Ensure you back up your data and perform factory reset (to wipe the phone) before handing it over to the Matrix agent.
