SEO is an acronym for "search engine optimization" or "search engine optimizer." Deciding to hire an SEO is a big decision that can potentially improve your site and save time, but you can also risk damage to your site and reputation. Make sure to research the potential advantages as well as the damage that an irresponsible SEO can do to your site. Many SEOs and other agencies and consultants provide useful services for website owners, including:
  • Review of your site content or structure
  • Technical advice on website development: for example, hosting, redirects, error pages, use of JavaScript
  • Content development
  • Management of online business development campaigns
  • Keyword research
  • SEO training
  • Expertise in specific markets and geographies.
Keep in mind that the Google search results page includes organic search results and often paid advertisement (denoted by the heading "Sponsored Links") as well. Advertising with Google won't have any effect on your site's presence in our search results. Google never accepts money to include or rank sites in our search results, and it costs nothing to appear in our organic search results. Free resources such as Webmaster Tools, the official Webmaster Central blog, and our discussion forum can provide you with a great deal of information about how to optimize your site for organic search.
Before beginning your search for an SEO, it's a great idea to become an educated consumer and get familiar with how search engines work. We recommend starting here:
If you're thinking about hiring an SEO, the earlier the better. A great time to hire is when you're considering a site redesign, or planning to launch a new site. That way, you and your SEO can ensure that your site is designed to be search engine-friendly from the bottom up. However, a good SEO can also help improve an existing site.
Some useful questions to ask an SEO include:
  • Can you show me examples of your previous work and share some success stories?
  • Do you follow the Google Webmaster Guidelines?
  • Do you offer any online marketing services or advice to complement your organic search business?
  • What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe? How do you measure your success?
  • What's your experience in my industry?
  • What's your experience in my country/city?
  • What's your experience developing international sites?
  • What are your most important SEO techniques?
  • How long have you been in business?
  • How can I expect to communicate with you? Will you share with me all the changes you make to my site, and provide detailed information about your recommendations and the reasoning behind them?
While SEOs can provide clients with valuable services, some unethical SEOs have given the industry a black eye through their overly aggressive marketing efforts and their attempts to manipulate search engine results in unfair ways. Practices that violate our guidelines may result in a negative adjustment of your site's presence in Google, or even the removal of your site from our index. Here are some things to consider:
One common scam is the creation of "shadow" domains that funnel users to a site by using deceptive redirects. These shadow domains often will be owned by the SEO who claims to be working on a client's behalf. However, if the relationship sours, the SEO may point the domain to a different site, or even to a competitor's domain. If that happens, the client has paid to develop a competing site owned entirely by the SEO.
Another illicit practice is to place "doorway" pages loaded with keywords on the client's site somewhere. The SEO promises this will make the page more relevant for more queries. This is inherently false since individual pages are rarely relevant for a wide range of keywords. More insidious, however, is that these doorway pages often contain hidden links to the SEO's other clients as well. Such doorway pages drain away the link popularity of a site and route it to the SEO and its other clients, which may include sites with unsavory or illegal content.
If you feel that you were deceived by an SEO in some way, you may want to report it.
In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) handles complaints about deceptive or unfair business practices. To file a complaint, visit: http://www.ftc.gov/ and click on "File a Complaint Online," call 1-877-FTC-HELP, or write to:
Federal Trade Commission

Washington, D.C. 20580
If your complaint is against a company in a country other than the United States, please file it at http://www.econsumer.gov/.
  • Be wary of SEO firms and web consultants or agencies that send you email out of the blue. Amazingly, we get these spam emails too:
    "Dear google.com,
I visited your website and noticed that you are not listed in most of the major search engines and directories..."
Reserve the same skepticism for unsolicited email about search engines as you do for "burn fat at night" diet pills or requests to help transfer funds from deposed dictators.
  • No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a "special relationship" with Google, or advertise a "priority submit" to Google. There is no priority submit for Google. In fact, the only way to submit a site to Google directly is through our Add URL page or by submitting a Sitemap and you can do this yourself at no cost whatsoever.
  • Be careful if a company is secretive or won't clearly explain what they intend to do. Ask for explanations if something is unclear. If an SEO creates deceptive or misleading content on your behalf, such as doorway pages or "throwaway" domains, your site could be removed entirely from Google's index. Ultimately, you are responsible for the actions of any companies you hire, so it's best to be sure you know exactly how they intend to "help" you. If an SEO has FTP access to your server, they should be willing to explain all the changes they are making to your site.
  • You should never have to link to an SEO. Avoid SEOs that talk about the power of "free-for-all" links, link popularity schemes, or submitting your site to thousands of search engines. These are typically useless exercises that don't affect your ranking in the results of the major search engines -- at least, not in a way you would likely consider to be positive.
  • Choose wisely. While you consider whether to go with an SEO, you may want to do some research on the industry. Google is one way to do that, of course. You might also seek out a few of the cautionary tales that have appeared in the press, including this article on one particularly aggressive SEO: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/businesstechnology/2002002970_nwbizbriefs12.html. While Google doesn't comment on specific companies, we've encountered firms calling themselves SEOs who follow practices that are clearly beyond the pale of accepted business behavior. Be careful.
  • Be sure to understand where the money goes. While Google never sells better ranking in our search results, several other search engines combine pay-per-click or pay-for-inclusion results with their regular web search results. Some SEOs will promise to rank you highly in search engines, but place you in the advertising section rather than in the search results. A few SEOs will even change their bid prices in real time to create the illusion that they "control" other search engines and can place themselves in the slot of their choice. This scam doesn't work with Google because our advertising is clearly labeled and separated from our search results, but be sure to ask any SEO you're considering which fees go toward permanent inclusion and which apply toward temporary advertising.
  • What are the most common abuses a website owner is likely to encounter?
  • What are some other things to look out for? There are a few warning signs that you may be dealing with a rogue SEO. It's far from a comprehensive list, so if you have any doubts, you should trust your instincts. By all means, feel free to walk away if the SEO:
    • owns shadow domains
    • puts links to their other clients on doorway pages
    • offers to sell keywords in the address bar
    • doesn't distinguish between actual search results and ads that appear on search results pages
    • guarantees ranking, but only on obscure, long keyword phrases you would get anyway
    • operates with multiple aliases or falsified WHOIS info
    • gets traffic from "fake" search engines, spyware, or scumware
    • has had domains removed from Google's index or is not itself listed in Google

1. Make it easy for visitors to bookmark your website. Place 'Bookmark this site' and 'Bookmark this page' buttons on each page of your site. Here is a piece of script that makes it easy to do it: http://www.hypergurl.com/bookmark.html.

2. But we are in the Web 2.0 era, so apart from buttons to bookmark your site in their browser, you should also add buttons so that people can bookmar your site in their favorite social bookmarking website. These buttons are often called chicklets. You can get some chicklets here for your blog: http://3spots.blogspot.com/2006/02/30-social-bookmarks-add-to-footer.html, or you can use this site: http://www.addthis.com/ to get one button covering multiple bookmarking sites.

3. Speaking of buttons, a third type of button that you should have is an RSS feed button. This can be a simple RSS button for people to add to their sites, or a MyYahoo RSS feed button so that people can add your site to their MyYahoo pages. In order to add these types of buttons to your site, your site needs to be able to generate an RSS feed. The simplest to achieve this is to add a blogging component to your site, since most blogging tools such as Wordpress already has RSS feeds built in.

4. This brings us to the next tip - regular updates to your website. Adding regular content to your website has two advantages: it pulls new visitors who might have your RSS feeds published on their sites, and it also pulls search engines. Search engines love new content and they come back more often to your site if your site is updated often. Updates are easy to do if you have a blog attached to your website, but it is also important to add new content to the regular side of your website. The best type of content to make people stick around is useful information for your visitors such as tips, tutorials, guides and comparisons.

5. Make a newsletter available on your website. Even though it is becoming more and more difficult to get people to sign up for newsletters, it is a very important component of a website and should not be ignored - rather spend more attention on this aspect and even 'bribe' people with a free gift of some sort to sign up for your newsletter. If you can manage to get your visitors to sign up for a newsletter you can send out regular updates of new content and invite people to read the content on your website - thereby pulling them back to your site.

6. Add a 'Recommend this site to a Friend' form so that your visitor can email your website to a friend, or friends. Be careful with this one though since spammers love email forms on websites. Ask your website to install a script that has spam protection built in.

7. Make it easy for people to contact you. Have a contact form on each page. Ensure that you have multiple ways for people to contact you, whether by phone, online chat or email forms. Once again, make sure that your form is protected against spammers.

8. An FAQ section on your site that answers your visitors' questions is important to build trust. These questions are also an easy way to add new content to your site! You could assemble these questions from questions that are regularly asked by off-line customers in your bricks and mortar business. This page can help establish trust in you and your product or service. And trust is absolutely essential if you want to get people to buy from you.

9. Make it easy for people to navigate your site. Usability guru Jacob Nielsen recommends that web designers should keep website navigation as standard as possible. All menus and links should also be clearly marked as such. If people are confused with your website layout and cannot navigate easily from the one section to the next, they will leave quickly! For large sites a trail of 'breadcrumbs' at the top of each page showing the current location of each page in the hierarchy of each site, is indispensable.

10. Make your site interactive. We are moving more and more towards websites that offer interactive capabilities to visitors. This is a broad blanket term that covers anything from forums to blogs, from help desks to online chat support. You can also do online surveys and polls, or allow visitors to upload their own content to your site depending on the situation. Allowing your visitors to interact with your website has two advantages: it builds more content for your site, and it empowers your visitor and makes them feel in control of their website visiting experience.

1. Offer discounts to advertisers who spend more money or purchase a larger volume of ads.

2. Offer your advertisers a free incentive or bonus if they renew their ads. It might be something like "purchase 11 months

and get the 12th free. You could also offer them a copy of a product you might be selling if they renew their current contract term.

3. You just don't have to sell add space at the top or bottom of your pages or even in the left/right hand columns, you can sell space right smack dab in the middle of the page and have your page text "wrap around" the ad.

4. You can sell a lot more ads if you re-write some of the content of your pages to reference their particular product.

5. Offer potential ad customers free or additional listings on other parts of your site when they purchase regular ad space.

6. You can offer an honest endorsement of your advertisers product, if they would be willing to supply you a copy to try out.

7. In addition to #6, offer to place your personal review or testimonial near their advertisement. This always acts like a magnet to draw visitors to the actual ad.

8. Dust off the P.T. Barnum in you and try offer special deals like "pay for two months upfront and get a third month at no charge" or "buy one get one free" or something similar to that. Use you creative mind!

9. If you website sells products that would be of interest to your potential advertisers, offer them (your product) as
"signing" bonuses for signing on as an advertiser on your site.

10. Give advertisers your personal guarantee that if they don't receive a certain amount of exposures, clicks etc., that you will give them another months worth of ad space for free.

They fail to write a business plan. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Not having a business plan means you dont have any firmly set goals. Along with a business plan you should have a marketing plan that clearly outlines your advertising budget and what you plan to do if something goes wrong.

They cant stick to what works. Instead of having and focusing on a few affiliate programs that work for you, become a chronic opportunity seeker and hop from one work at home business opportunity to another. You never give yourself a chance to grow a single business.

They dont know their business. People never get to know their business inside and out. They dont know what sets them apart from the rest, how their business helps to serve the public and what strategies to use to make it better.

They put more emphasis on the home part of work at home. They are so caught up with the notion of getting to work from home that never they actually come to terms with the fact that this is work. In fact it may be one of the hardest things you ever you do.

They dont put advice into practice. Theres a lot of information out there. Good, useful information to help you earn money online can be found both online and offline. Your business can take a 180 if you only implement it. But many people get information and tuck it away somewhere without ever using it.

They put web creation before content creation. They spend so much time trying to make their site pretty
That they forget to add any real information to get browsers to come back Your flashy welcome sign can only do so much.

They neglect their babies. Its either because they have too many websites or they get bored, whatever the reason many people forget to revisit their websites
and look at it from a consumer point of view. Do your links work, is your content up to date, is it easy on the eyes. Even if you have 50 websites you have to show them a little TLC every now and then.

They lose touch. They dont keep in contact with their list frequently enough. Its not as if your list is holding their breath waiting for an email from you but they did take the time to sign up to your newsletter, you can a least drop a hello.

They trade dollars for hours. Youll never earn money online by trading dollars for hours. It wont kill you to miss your favorite TV show or opt out of a movie. But many refuse to sacrifice a few hours of fun to make money online. They spend more time surfing the net for jokes and gossip than actually working. Quite surfing the net and get to work.

They dont understand the concept behind the task. If your promoting because its part of the job description your wasting your time. Its not enough to just do things, you need to know why you are doing it. Otherwise youll fail to see the bigger picture and youll continue to make the same mistakes over and over again.

In the first part of this article I explained that if you want to grow your online customer base then you must build a good stream of incoming traffic to your web site. We covered Search Engine Optimization, Pay Per Click Advertising, and Article Marketing. In Part Two we now look at Free Ebooks, Viral Marketing, Classified Advertising, and Advertising Swaps.

4. Free Ebooks

Ebooks are books that are made available in an electronic format. The beauty of ebooks is they cost virtually nothing to produce and distribute. Ebooks initially became popular as the perfect format for information products being sold and delivered online, but they have now been recognized as a very effective resource for building traffic.
After you have written an ebook you can give it away to visitors as a reward for subscribing to your mailing list or newsletter. Your ebook for traffic building does not need to be the same number of pages as a full-length book. Many ebooks being used as free incentives are in the range of 12 to 25 pages.

You can even recruit related businesses and web sites to give away your ebook to their customers. The other site benefits because their visitors get something for free. And you benefit because you reach new readers with your information including a link to your web site.

Many ebook authors include a few advertising and affiliate links towards the end of their ebooks which can lead to additional revenue, especially if their free ebooks are heavily distributed.

5. Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is any advertising method that propagates itself. It is built on the concept of a message spreading by 'word of mouth'. Two examples of viral marketing online are "Tell a Friend" forms, and Viral Ebooks.

The idea with viral marketing is to induce visitors or readers to pass along your marketing message to other sites or people, creating a potentially exponential growth in the message's visibility and response.

A "Tell a Friend" form is designed to get one person that you have already reached to recommend your site or service to a number of their friends. You can offer an incentive for them to make the recommendation, for example giving them a free report or ebook in return for recommending you to five friends.

To make a viral ebook, you use special tools to make your ebook rebrandable. In a rebrandable ebook, certain parts of your ebook are set up for customization. By doing this you enable your partners to insert their own business name, web site links, or even their own affiliate ID into your ebook. This gives them an additional incentive to pass on copies of it, ultimately helping you to promote your business and grow your traffic.

6. Classified Advertising

Classified advertising is a form of advertising which is particularly common in newspapers and magazines. Many online ezines and email newsletters offer classified advertising spots and advertising in these can be one of the best sources of targeted traffic.

The best traffic growth comes from carefully targeting your potential visitors and with classified advertising you have the ability to select newsletters and with an audience that closely resembles your own target audience.

With online classified advertising it is especially important to consider the position of the advertisement you are purchasing. An ad spot at the very top of an email newsletter will receive considerably more clicks than an ad spot further down the message.

And while we are on the subject of classified advertising, don't dismiss offline classified advertising as irrelevant. It is possible to run a classified advertisement in an offline publication such as newspaper or carefully targeted magazine and get an excellent response of readers checking out your web site.

7. Advertising Swaps

Once you have a mailing list of your own with several thousand subscribers consider setting up 'ad swaps' with other newsletters. Make a list of possible newsletters that would make good swapping targets. This list might include newsletters on the very same topic as yours, but it could also include publications on closely related topics.

A newsletter on copywriting, for example, might do an ad swap with another copywriting newsletter. Or they might swap with newsletters on related topics such as advertising, editing, and freelance writing.

Swapping ads one of the most effective low cost techniques for building traffic. There is only the opportunity cost of not having paid advertising in those spots of your newsletter. I can assure you that the traffic growth will be worth more in the long term than a one-off advertising payment from someone for a classified ad.

Are you an aspiring entrepreneur? Are you already in business for yourself, but are looking for a relatively inexpensive area in which to expand? Do you want to start a home based business that you can do without quitting your regular job?

If any of these cases apply to you – and you have an interest in the media industry – then read on. Here are 10 media related businesses that you can start for less than $10,000.

1. A Barter Publication

Everybody has stuff that they would like to get rid of. And everybody likes cheap stuff. You can bring these people together by starting a barter publication in your community. Revenue can be earned through subscriptions or advertising space sales.

2. Brochure Design

Every business needs good business brochures. If you have a knack for designing things, you can help businesses in your area by designing their brochure printing. Many small businesspeople are afraid to try doing this on their own, and would be more than willing to let you design their brochure printing (and pay you for it, too).

3. Copywriting

A copywriter is basically a freelance writer who writes for a variety of different businesses. Jobs would include sales copy, newsletters, articles, and many other things. It’s easy to get started as a copywriter: just search for “freelance writing” jobs.

4. Graphic Design

This is a popular entrepreneurial idea. You may be surprised to learn, however, that it is not very expensive to start up as a graphic designer. It just takes a bit of leg work to get your name and talent out there. Once you get established, though, it will go much more smoothly.

5. How-to Books

Yes, you can write books for a living, and you do not even have to deal with grouchy editors who constantly reject your work. How? By writing eBooks, which are just books in electronic format. Write about how to do something, and sell it electronically.

6. Write Jingles

If you are a music wiz, this one is for you. You can write the “jingles” for radio and TV commercials, and perhaps even TV shows.

7. Press Release Writing

While this could fall under the “copywriter” category, you could actually make a decent living writing nothing but press releases. Thousands of new businesses start up every year, and they all need good press releases to let the public know about them.

8. Restaurant Menus

If you love food, and graphic design is a talent that you possess, you can make money by designing menus for restaurants in your area. Simply ask the manager if he needs (or wants) a new menu designed.

9. Greeting Cards

You can produce your own line of greeting cards and turn a nice profit. Of course, you have to have a way with words, and you have to be at design. If you can do both, try your hand at writing and designing specialty greeting cards.

10. Transcripts

You would be amazed at how many transcripts need to be written. Everything from radio shows to commercials to TV shows need transcripts written for them. Get in on the action by offering to write them up for a fee.

Promoting your website can be a daunting task: it feels like there are thousands of ways to do it, but all of them take a lot of time or money for no guaranteed return. To help solve this problem, I've compiled a list of ten easy ways to promote your website.

1. Advertise in the Media. Now, you might have already ruled out advertising in newspapers and the like as too expensive, especially since the chances are your audience doesn't live in any specific local area. That mostly rules out radio, too, and TV is even more likely to be out of your reach. What you might not have realised, though, is that you should stop looking at the general media and start looking at the specialist media for your area. For example, if you run a house-buying website, you could advertise it in specialist property magazines, and even on 'lifestyle' cable channels that show programmes about moving home.

2. Write Your Web Address on Things. If your business has any physical objects, whether it's a product, a carrier bag or just the front of your office, make sure to write your web address on there. Even if people don't keep or remember the exact address, it at least lets them know that your website exists.

3. Give Out Leaflets. There's nothing wrong with a bit of old-fashioned paper promotion: leaflet as many areas as you can. The chances are that your website is targeted to a specific demographic rather than an area, but the post office will be surprisingly helpful when it comes to getting your leaflets where they need to go, if you ask them.

4. Go to Specialist Events. If there's some kind of trade fair for the industry your website is in, turn up to it and promote your website. While there might not be all that many people there, the ones who are there will be influential, and can get your site talked about.

5. Put it on Business Cards. It should go without saying, but once you've gone to all that trouble to set up a website, don't forget to put it on your business cards. After all, if you're relying on them to get people to phone you, why not give them the option of reading more about you on your website?

6. Astroturf on Forums. An often overlooked way of getting traffic to your website is to participate on forums related to the subject and put your web address in your signature. This gets you more traffic than you'd think, especially at very popular forums.

7. Create Controversy. A great trick to promote your website is to use it to say controversial things: as the saying goes, any publicity is good publicity. This works best if you say something that you know will be provocative to a certain kind of person, getting it linked from all over the place. Bear in mind, though, that this strategy is better for advertising-driven websites than it is if you're trying to build a reputation and make sales directly.

8. Keep a Good Blog. While more and more businesses are starting blogs, few of them are doing it right. If you're using your blog to publish product announcements in corporate-speak, it's useless. You need to remember a simple mantra, 'views not news' Make sure your blog has something interesting to say.

9. Buy Search Engine Ads. Many people seem to think it's some kind of admission of defeat, but search engine advertising can work very well, especially with keywords that aren't already cluttered with ads. If you do it right, you can get very targeted ads very cheap. Indeed, ironically, the more targeted the ads, the cheaper they tend to be.

10. Start an Affiliate Program. Finally, if you're selling something, don't forget that old standby of web marketing: the affiliate program. Offer visitors a cut of the profits if they can sell your products for you, and all of a sudden you've got a crack sales team raring to go. The only trouble with this plan is that everyone is doing it, so you'll need to offer a high percentage of your profits to your affiliates to make the offer attractive to them.

An ebook ghostwriter is a person that creates an ebook without expecting to receive credit for writing the book. An ebook, which is much like a hard-copy book but distributed in digital format, provides an excellent means for a business to promote its goods or services.

If you offer a good or service, you might want to consider hiring an ghostwriter to create an ebook that you can distribute for free which can substantially increase your number of customers and create strong partnerships with other businesses.

Hiring a ghostwriter is one marketing tool that many business owners are finding to a successful marketing tool. If you have a web site dedicated to selling herbal supplements, for example, you might hire a ghostwriter to write a book delivered in digital format about various herbal supplements and their benefits. By offering this ebook for free on your web site, you are improving the public perception of your business.

Of course, you do not have to give your book away for free. There are several businesses that make a steady flow of cash by offering digital books for sale. These come in both fiction and nonfiction and there is a developing fan-base of individuals that prefer to purchase their books in this way. In addition, offering your books in digital format can significantly decrease your overhead costs and increase your profit. Better yet, you can hire a ghostwriter to write the books for you and you will not have to put very much effort into the money-making venture at all!

Selecting a writer will have a great deal to do with the type of material you need written. If you are looking for a fictional book, for example, you will certainly want someone with experience writing successful fictional stories. If you are interested in hiring a writer to write non-fiction, on the other hand, you might want to hire someone that has experience in the subject matter. Or, you might hire someone that has written numerous articles even if he or she does not necessarily have experience writing ebooks.

Selecting a ghostwriter may also depend upon the length of your project. If you are looking for a small ebook on a simple subject, for example, you might not need someone that is overly experienced with writing. If you want a large, detailed book, on the other hand, it will be well worth paying the extras for a writer that knows how to take complex information and make it easy to read.

With the ever-growing popularity of the Internet, finding a ghostwriter is not as difficult as you might think. One method is to post your project on freelance sites across the Internet. Another option is to post your project on a bid board. By posting on a bid board, all of the freelance writers on the board can easily read your project specs and determine if they would be a good match. If they feel they can complete your project to your liking, they will then place a bid. You can follow this up by reading the portfolio they create on the bid board and reading the reviews they have received from other clients they have worked for on the board. In this way, your selection process becomes quick and easy.
Are you an article writer or an e-book writer? If so, how long does it take you to write? Just a few of these methods, seven to be exact, are outlined below.

(1) Comfort – If you would like to write quicker, you need to find a setting that you feel comfortable in. In addition to actually feeling comfortable, you need to be comfortable. Whether you want to work from your bed or outdoors, you are advised to do so. You are also urged to dress comfortably. When writers are comfortable, they are able to not only work quicker, but also produce better work.

(2) Distractions – All distractions need to be eliminated.
Although this may seem difficult, it doesn’t have to be. For instance, if you are a work-at-home parent, you can try sending your child to daycare, even if it is only one day a week. You can also try working during nap times or even at night, after your child has gone to sleep. The elimination of distractions is a great way to write quicker. In fact, it is also known to reduce or completely eliminate the chances of developing writers block.

(3) Typing – Do you consider yourself to be fast at typing? If you type less than fifty words per minute (wpm), you may want to think about taking a typing class. One of the many problems that e-book writers face is that their fingers don’t go as fast as their minds do. Once your typing improves to a quicker speed, you may notice a significant improvement in the amount of time that it takes you to write.

(4) Outlines – If you are an e-book writer who currently doesn’t use an outline, you may want to think about doing so. Outlines are relatively easy to develop and they have an unlimited number of benefits. One of those benefits is that you know exactly what to write and how to write it. This means that you can just focus on writing and not necessarily thinking about your next step. This, alone, can save you a considerable amount of time.

(5) Spell Check – Spell check, without a doubt, is important to any e-book. That is why it is important that you do it, but you may want to write first and spell check later. If you use a program like Microsoft Word, all of your misspelled words will be highlighted and waiting for you. For that reason you are advised to wait until the end, doing so will eliminate small breaks; breaks that may bring on a case of writers block.

(6) Proofreading – As with spell checking, proofreading is extremely important. Many e-book authors like to proofread after writing a chapter or a paragraph. If at all possible, you are urged not to do this. You may want to write now and proofread later. Once you get on a roll with writing, you may not want to stop. In the end, you may find that it results in you being able to finish your work quicker.

(7) Time – You are advised to not worry about time. Even if you are on a deadline, you are urged to take your time and not think about it. Worrying about just how much time it takes you to write will have a negative impact on your work. In fact, it is likely to result in more mistakes. Those mistakes take time to fix. If you are looking to write quicker, you should try focusing on your writing, rather than time itself. You may be surprised just how much it helps!

The above mentioned write quicker methods are just a few of the many that exist. As you likely already know, what works for someone else, might not work for you. With that in mind, you are still advised to give the above mentioned approaches a try. What do you have to loose?

Writing faster is a lot easier than many people think. If you put your mind to it, could you be writing faster in no time at all.
You finally realize that you need a good opt-in list. After reading countless articles and sought expert advices and have read many success stories of people creating a small fortune with opt-in lists you finally decide to have one of your own. Then it happens, you think you have known everything there is to know about opt-in lists and have followed their advices to the T and you still werent able to make a profit.

In fact, you may be losing money. You maybe hiring writers to help you out, or there are some expenses incurred, even if you have a big list, but only a very small percentage actually buys from you, your still losing profit. Youll realize that after a few months when you see your statistics and sales figures.

So what could have gone wrong? Why have others succeeded where you have failed? The most common mistake is that you dived straight right in. You chose a topic where you think could be quite popular and would earn you money. This just not the case. Just because you wrote people from the list doesnt mean they are going to buy instantly.

Here I will offer more advice, for those who have started an opt-in list and have failed, you can rejuvenate your failed venture. For those who are starting, here are three quick and easy ways to build a profitable opt-in list.

1) Get your customers to trust you and your products first. Just launching your opt-in list would not make you an expert and a believable seller. Put many articles first before you start an opt-in list. Write about the topic you know and have started and used for your site. Try to put forums first to gain knowledge about your customers about their wants and needs and target those wants and needs.

Join forums from other sites as well. Provide expert advices and recommendations. When you feel that people trust you already, you will be able to start your own opt-in list. You can build a base as well with other forum users. You can ask them to join your list. Friends are always good customers. Put up a link to your site so that they may be able to see what you're business is all about.

The certain truth is, the money will only come in when the consumers and subscribers believe and trust in you. They want a product or service that could be a good exchange for their money. People are not going to buy something out of your recommendation if they dont know you.

2) Find a product or service that people want and need. Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a service and product that you have researched and learned about well, you can carry it on forward. Invest your time, effort and money that you could sell as well as the buyers or subscribers of your opt-in list can use.

While it is true that it is best to sell something that you have interest in, there are not many people who have the same interest as you if you decide to sell something that is not entirely popular or profitable. Do your research well and you would see the profits come in. Also provide your subscribers with promotional material that they could actually use and spread around.

3) Make friends with other opt-in list users. This is basically beneficial especially if it is someone who has already launched a successful opt-in list. These are people that have the experience in this venture and experience is still the best teacher. While there are many articles available for you in the internet to use, there is nothing like getting a first hand account from someone you trust.

Experienced opt-in list users will be able to tell you what to do and what not to do because they have gone through it. While different situations occur for different people, the general concept can still be very helpful. There are many things to avoid and these people will be able to tell you which ones.

Building a profitable opt-in list dont just happen overnight. There are many preparations and effort to do. Opt-in lists are built from scratch, as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or hire help if need be, just make sure that your subscribers are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy from you.
There are a number of ways to have people opt-in and place them on your list, giving you the ability to keep customers coming back. One of those ways is through a Squeeze page.

There are two types, you have the first which allows for an opt-in in order to continue to the rest of the site or the second type which allows a visitor to choose to opt-in or not. Therefore, what is the reason for a squeeze page; it is because the majority of visitors to your site probably will not buy the first time, or even the second.

By using a squeeze page, you are able to collect the necessary information in order to email a sales letter to the visitor. This provides a great opportunity to announce sales and advertise your products.

First, make sure your squeeze page begins with a headline, then bullet information about the product, or service you are offering preferably the one you are giving away as a free gift for them signing up to your email list.

After all the purpose of this page is to get, them to fill out the email box and hit submit. They will want to know what they are getting in exchange for giving you their email address and their permission to email them future sales letters.

Second, make sure there are no links to other parts of your site from the squeeze page this lowers the chance of someone finishing the page and signing up because they can simply by pass it.

Third, make use of available resources when it comes to emailing visitors. Some of the best ways to attract people to your squeeze page is through emails. These are usually offered through joint venture partners, other affiliate with your site or the original product owner.

These emails usually contain links that lead to more information about what was in the particular email. The squeeze page then gives them more information about what they can find on your site, the information, product, or service you are offering, the free gift or other enticement you have set up to sway people into signing into the list.

These three things can be a great help in marketing your squeeze page and making it a working resources in marketing for your website and business. Having an online presence when it comes to business is more than just the webpage you have set up.

Effective marketing of each aspect of your site is critical in maintaining a solid and steadily growing presence on the web. One of these ways is to effectively build lists that give you a target group of interested people to keep informed about you, your product, and your website.

By making your squeeze page, interesting and informative you can turn it into a highly effective and profitable marketing tool to help you and your business. Remember to keep it simple, use enticement, and do not be afraid to use resources.
The lifeblood of any Internet marketer is their list. If you have an opt in email list then you are sitting on piles of cash, if you properly use your list then your earning potential is very high.

As many people ask "How do I build a list?" the following points describes some of the best ways for building your email list.

1) Newsletter / E-zine

We are in the Information Age and so people are desperate for information. Everyone is so busy with their lives they don’t have time to find the information for themselves. Publish a newsletter in your niche that is full of valuable content and you will get people flocking to you to sign up.

2) E-Courses

People are hungry for information, so a free e-course will persuade people to part with their email address. Create at least a seven part course that is delivered every few days into their inbox. Of course, the e-course also subtly sells your product!

3) Articles

Write articles and distribute them to article directories. Include your newsletter sign up in the resource box and if you have provided good quality content, you will get the visitors who will sign up to learn more.

4) Free Books

A free e-book is an excellent way to build your list. It doesn’t have to be an epic tome, just valuable information that people will exchange their email address for. You can write one yourself or get one ghostwritten for you. Make sure though that it is information that your visitors will want to have, and make sure you have included links to your products and sites in the book. You can also include affiliate links to further maximise your earnings.

5) Free Membership Site

Creating a free membership site is an excellent way to get people’s email addresses. Offer valuable content for free but only to signed up members. You can then upsell them other products or other levels of membership with more products and more resources available to them.

6) Squeeze Page

A squeeze page is a pre-sales letter page where you capture a person’s email address before they move on to view your sales letter. This is reportedly very effective and you can also personalise the sales letter with their name or other details from the squeeze page.

7) Pop Up

Pop up windows, particularly unique and different windows, can be very effective at persuading people to sign up for your newsletter. These can either pop up as the visitor enters your site, or when they leave, reminding them to sign up for more information.

8) Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is where you give away something of value that people want to pass to all their friends. It may be a video, a book, a game or anything similar. However, whatever it is, it has your web address in it so people can come and sign up to your newsletter and get more info.

9) Free Giveaways

A very popular new method of list building are the big Internet giveaways where lots of people submit products that are available for free in exchange for a newsletter sign up. These are excellent ways to rapidly build your list – though be aware that freebie seekers may not make for the most responsive of lists.

10) Sign up bonuses

Offer your visitors a bonus if they sign up for your newsletter, e.g. “20% off XYZ for readers” or a number of e-books or reports that will be of interest to them.

Using these 10 simple strategies you can build your list and then leverage their earning power.
Hello Reader,

Nowadays, we communicate more and more through email. We use Email communication to write something to friends, relatives, colleagues or clients. Whoever the recipient of your email, it is becoming very important that you write email effectively. As you know, by writing effective email, you can save your time, other person’s time and you can win more trust & confidence from the other end.

Give Reply of Email As soon as Possible

More and more people contact each other through email. Even if they mention directly or not, they expect prompt responses. One of the study by Jupiter Research indicates that 35% of customers expect a reply within six hours, an additional 55% expect a response within 24 hours. Though many people focus on response time, content is just as important. The same study indicated that lack of a thorough response (45%) will cause on-line customers to view a company negatively when considering future purchases.

Learn the art of writing Email

Poorly crafted emails will generate additional emails back & forth, which potentially eating up more of your time. Worse, they can drive unnecessary calls to your most costly channel – your phone. And at that point, customers are bound to be angry and frustrated.

Here are some tips for writing email responses that are both thorough and appropriate:

1. Format your response so that it’s easy to read on a screen. Do not write email using very long sentences, which are lengthy horizontally. Each line must be short. Ideally, write 5-6 words in each line only and not more than that.

2. Make sure the subject line is concise and meaningful to the recipient…not just a generic
“Response from Marketing Team” But also be careful that it doesn’t look like spam.

3. Have one subject per paragraph. Mention this separately by blank lines, so that its easy to read and understand.

4. Be brief. Use as few words as possible to convey your message. More is not better when
it comes to email. An email is not perceived as an electronic letter.

5. Use simple, declarative sentences. Write for a third or fourth grade audience,
particularly if you’re creating templates that are sent automatically. You do not know the
education level of your sender or the sender’s level of comfort with the English language.

6. Be sensitive to the tone of the original email. If the sender is upset because of an error on
your part, acknowledge the error. Clearly state what you are doing to correct the situation.

7. Make sure you answer all the questions posed in the original inquiry. A partial answer
frustrates the sender and results in additional contacts. It also makes the company sending
the response look inept.

8. Make it clear what actions you will be taking next and when the writer can expect the
next contact from you.

9. Don’t ask for an order number/case number or any old information which you remember out of your mind only when one is included in the original email…sounds pretty basic, but sometimes people miss very obvious info in email.

10. Don’t just tell the sender to go to your web site. In many cases, they have already been to
the web site and couldn’t find the answers they were looking for. If you want them to go
back to the web site, provide a direct link to the exact information the reader needs.

We all know and are feeling the recession and financial crisis. If you are not, then kudos to you. However, there is still hope because you can make money and pay your bills if you follow the advice I am about to give to you.

Years ago, I struggled to make a living online and there was no recession at that time. I wanted to quit my day job because it was boring and I felt unfulfilled. I was only filling up the hours and getting a pay check for something I simply hated, so in my spare time, I would go online and see how I could replace my full time income.

I started by offering my freelance writing services, but after a while, I realized that this kept me seated to a chair all day and the deadlines were killing me. I still do some writing, but do not rely solely on that for income.

I then came upon six incredible ways to make money online and I am now making over $397 each day. This is not about boasting or anything. This is about sharing. I don’t even want you to buy anything, if you don’t want to and on top of that the recession has probably robbed you of any hope that you may have had. Well there is hope.

I am going to list all six resources and tools that I used to replace my full time income.

1. Maverick Money Makers

2. Commission Blueprint

3. Google Dominator

4. Secret Affiliate Code

5. Blogging to the Bank

6. Affiliate Prophet – Read the full review here

I use these six tools in combination to each other and got a process that is working for me. I will one day share the step by step plan in my own ebook, but for now, just trust me when I say that these work. I have written some reviews on each product that you can find on my blog at http://more-affiliate-earning.com.

However, I must give you the bad news because you know that there are always advantages and disadvantages for everything so I won’t hide behind the good and keep the bad away from you.

There is work involved! That is the first thing and the reason I mentioned that is people want it the easy way and that does not work. Another important fact is that these products were not created with the recession in mind so some of them do require an investment, which I know you probably don’t have right now. Google dominator is the one that is the easiest because when you purchase it for $27, you do not have to spend another cent, but you have to do some ground work to set everything up.

Maverick money Makers is probably the one that has less work because it is a membership club that caters for automated set up and once you have everything set up , it usually runs on autopilot. Affiliate Prophet and Commission Blueprint are the ones that will make you the most money, but the process has a learning curve that you will have to get used to.

Secret Affiliate Code is closer to what Google Dominator entails and is not hard to tackle at all. They both guide you step by step on what to do after each task so it becomes less challenging for you.

Blogging to the Bank is also easy, but it does require a small investment of setting up your own domain and that probably amounts to an additional $10 bucks. You can start out with free blogs, but to make the most money faster, it is better to have your own domain because Wordpress will shut you down if you monetize your blog with affiliate links. I have learned the hard way.

You can pick which ones you want to use or all six. It depends on your budget, but if I were starting out and wanted to get a fast start with little money, my two picks would be Google Dominator and Blogging to the Bank because these two work best together and you will see why when you purchase them.

Grab This Indispensable Guide That Will Help You To Overcome The Recession Blues… Even If You Are Building Your Internet Business On A Shoe-String Budget!

If you do make any purchase from any link in this article, I will add the Recession Proof Fast Cash Strategies ebook above. It works well with these products because they were not created to help you to deal with the recession and this ebook is FREE to you when you make a purchase today. This offer is only good for the next 24 hours and then I will take it down.

I highly recommend all the products mentioned and if you really want to make an income close to $397 per day or more, take action now because the recession is not going away any time soon. I always like to offer my continued support to anyone who buys from you so if you do take action now, you have my commitment to support you in any way that I can.

Do you find it hard to keep the orders flowing in month after month? I have come up with ten awesome ways that you can now start to attract more orders for your business. This means more money for you! So stop what your doing and take the time to read the top ten ways so you can start putting them into affect right away.

1. Create a free ebook directory on a specific topic at your web site. People will visit your web site to read the free ebooks and may see your product ad.

2. Turn part of your web site into a members only web site. Instead of charging for access, use it as a free bonus for one of your products.

3. Add a free classified ad section to your web site. You could then trade banner ads with other web sites that have free classified ad sections. This will help increase the amount of traffic that comes to your site.

4. Create two versions of your e-zine so people can choose if they want ads included with it or not. This will attract the people who hate ads to subscribe. It will also build you subscriber list faster, and will give you more people to email out to when you need to.

5. Publish your e-zine only on your web site. Have people subscribe to a new issue e-mail reminder. This could really increase your traffic and sales.

6. Sell advertising space in your product package. You could sell inserts, flyers, brochures, booklets, and digital ads for electronic products. This is a great way to quickly earn extra money.

7. Offer daily or weekly visitor bonuses. This will increase your repeat traffic and sales because your visitors will visit regularly to get the visitor bonuses. Everyone loves free stuff, and helpful information. Give them what they want, and your sales will skyrocket!

8. Allow people to download software or e-books from your web site at no cost. Just ask your visitors in return if they will refer their friends to your web site.

9. Build up the number of people that join your free affiliate program quickly by temporally offering your product for free to the people that sign up. This is usually called a pre launch stage, and you can get a high number of people to join in a short period of time.

10. Negotiate with e-zine publishers to get free or discounted ads by letting them join your affiliate program and earn commissions on the ad you run.
Making money online is not hard if you know how to do it. Internet scams have scared people away from the real online opportunities. I remember someone once said "In order to succeed you either have to take a chance or be given one." So I was willing to take a chance to find out if someone could really make money online and how it was done.

After months of trying different programs, I realized I was going about it all wrong. I was trying to market other people's products and services without knowing how to write good content about them. Creating great content or articles for your products and service is the key to making money online. Content is what makes up the internet. If there's no content about your product or service no one would be able to find it. So the content you create needs to be informative, give something to the reader and provide a solution to their problems.

Before you start to write your articles and content you'll need to first read and research everything about that product or service. After you have read and memorized your product and it's features, now you should be ready to write something about it. You'll be surprised that once you start writing the rest will just come to you because you've memorized so much about it.

A lot of people are afraid they can't write well or put together good content to make money online but that's far from the truth. Try to remember that when your write articles, talk to your readers and tell them about your products without sounding like you’re advertising. Find a way to get your message across without making the reader feel like you’re just trying to sell them something. A good way to start would be to write an article and make points about how much the product or service will help them or solve their problems. For instance: If you were trying to market a product for “Tide”. You can’t say buy “Tide” products in your article, what you can say is: When you do laundry you can count on all of your clothes being extremely clean and fresh and in your resource box is where you put your link and your sales message for your products so the reader can visit your site to get more information on the product that gets your clothes so clean.

Here are a few pointers to help with the success of your online marketing and your other promotional efforts:

1. Use original content created only by you - using content created by someone other than you may get you penalized for plagiarism or duplicate content. You don't want to get banned by search engines.

2. Use keyword rich titles and descriptions - examples: Clean Laundry - keyword or keyword phrase, Clean Laundry Is a Must - keyword rich Title, Clean Laundry has gotten my family spoiled to a certain smell for their clothes - keyword rich Description.

3. Own your domain name - example - http://your-company-name.com

4. Think of creative ways to word and use your keywords in your articles and content mainly at the beginning of your sentence as shown above.

5. Use article directories for massive exposure, link building and 1st page rankings - This is very important after you've done 1 - 4 correctly

Article directories are one of the best sources for getting on the first page of Google. You can find a list of the top directories to submit your content through any search engine. The hardest part of making money online is getting traffic because article submissions are very time consuming and tedious. So I'm suggesting you use an article submission service or software to cut your time down.

Once you have submitted your articles and content on the web you can monitor your traffic and sales to see what's working and what isn't. You'll have to test certain articles and products first to see which ones are generating the most readers and traffic. Here's where your dedication comes in because some of the things you may try out at first may not work so well so you'll need to test out other products and article styles. If you want to make money online you have to keep at it until you see some results from your writing efforts. No road to success has ever been an easy one.
